I like how quick they are to help when there are issues, and I like how they're constantly improving their services.

I have been a ScalaHosting VPS customer for almost 2 years. As a web designer that has dealt with a lot of hosting companies, I can say I've found ScalaHosting to be one of the best. The SPanel platform they developed has a very intuative interface, and they are always improving and innovating. In many aspects it is just as good if not superior to Cpanel. They recently added new staging and backup features and am excited to try them out. Server performance has been phenominal for me, especially with running WordPress websites. The few interactions I have had with customer support have been positive, and very timely. Overall I'm happy I found Scala, and hope they continue to provide a quality service.
Email filters and spam settings / control, I find lacking and sometimes frustrating. I am hoping that will be a focus of improvement in the future. Their prices might be fair for the services provided compared to their competitors. I know VPS services are expensive. So far I've been able to make it work with my small business, hoping that can continue.

Best of all, you can always contact them in real time, rather than sending emails and waiting hours or days for a response. Also a big plus is that there is a panel that is free and helps to administer and configure the server, easily and quickly. Since I have been using their services we have not had an outage. We have contacted support several times and have received attention and assistance even in the wee hours of the night.
As something that is a drawback, perhaps, when requesting to add something new in the SPanel panel, it takes a long time. For example, PostgreSQL's automatic backup feature for databases I'm still waiting for.
We can count on our sites not to break, but even if there is such a critical moment, we can count on a quick response from support, this gives us peace of mind and security.
