You get a lot of features for your money – more per price-tier than many other systems – and it's very reasonably priced. Integration and basic customisation is simple if you know CSS and HTML. There's also plenty of apps to plugin to increase a store's features, many of them free. The shining stars of Ecwid, though, are its support staff, who are knowledgeable, very helpful, and able to fix 90% of issues. If they can't help immediately, they'll go away and work on it, emailing a solution when they have one.

Some apps require subscriptions that can increase costs considerably over a few months or a year. Some basic features that could easily be integrated for free are provided by paid-for apps, which can add to the cost. More powerful features or integrations in the shop itself will require your own developer, or you'll need to pay the Ecwid dev team, which can also increase costs. The code snippet to insert a whole store section in your own website could have a greater degree of customisation to allow better integration, and a more feature-rich user experience.

We were looking for a cost-effective e-commerce solution that had the functionality we needed to grow our ecommerce side of our skincare business. As we already had a couple of websites the main feature we were looking for was the integration of the ecommerce widget into our Joomla and Wordpress sites. This was accomplished really, really seamlessly with Ecwid. The additional add on features that we have since integrated into Ecwid - the product search feature and reviews feature - also went very well. We are constantly given tips for these types of add-ons in the dashboard and through the Ecwid blog, which is a very nice feature for learning and updating as we go. Ecwid has everything we need for running our ecommerce for both the wholesale and the retail side of our business, including automated emails, discount coupons, group discounts and abandoned cart offers.

Some issues with integrating Yotpo for reviews .Some issues in the beginning with keeping our wholesale products and prices from showing up on google. But we got those resolved and customer service and technical support has been great.

Sooo many options for products. As a balloon company, I can put options like colors, length, embedded pictures, and so many more with text fields, radio buttons, etc. Plus, I can assign cost values for each option so a client can know that adding foil balloons to their selected garland will cost an additional $5 per foot and it recalculates the total cost instantly as they select options.

As great as the product options are, Ecwid is clearly designed for mailing out products. As a service-based company, we're constantly having to reinvent the wheel to get options at checkout. Delivery windows are rigid. Adding a button to say "We want teardown for $75" at checkout would cost us hundreds of dollars of programming, so we develop workarounds. When you try to add mileage costs based on zip code, it takes more workarounds, and if you want to add a percentage of cost as a rush order fee or something similar, it just doesn't have the versatility. We still appreciate and endorse the product, but it's best for mailing out t-shirts, not running a service business.

We needed a platform that could give us tons of options for our myriad offerings, customized pricing options for each item and ability to handle payment and checkout. It solves most of these problems for our company.

What is most helpful about using Ecwid is that it leads you through the process step by step. Also, you literally don't have to make any decisions to get your starter website up and running, it is done automatically with the option to tweak it later. What I like the most is that, as a South African battling with our weak Rand, I know that I can afford Ecwid and I really feel that I'm getting value for my subscription fees.

My only challenge is that I have only found plugins for the South African Post Office and Collivery as delivery options. I can't risk using the South African Post Office because they are nototious for delivering horribly late, if they actually deliver at all, and I believe in fabulous customer service. Collivery is a challenge because it is much more expensive than most couriers. Would love to see a future plugin for TCG (The Courier Guy) or Fastway or Aramex, perhaps similar to what uAfrica.com has with Shopify (just the courier option. Their syncing with other sites is for the really big players, as you have to upgrade your Shopify plan.) Or a plugin just like the existing one for Collivery would be wonderful.

We needed a Web presence for both sales and marketing purposes, and Ecwid has helped us do that with no extra skills required, at an affordable price. We are also very happy to see in the newsletter that new features are continuously being released. Our dashboard is easy to understand and navigate, and we are well pleased. It's also great to be able to pay subscription fees with PayPal.

Easy to set up, easy to add products, descriptions, images, related documents. Basically anything you could think of, bar a few important things (see the dislikes). Helpful customer service. Relatively inexpensive even at higher levels, and very reasonably priced compared to for example Shopify (although Shopify of course offers way more functionalities).

US-centric, which can cause issues with setting up shipping (specifically calculating shipping costs automatically). I had to spend a day inputting values from a spreadsheet to automate shipping cost calculations for our webstore. Took a while for Ecwid to implement a solution for EU-based customers to validate their VAT IDs and to be able to purchase with 0% VAT. This caused some issues for us, but luckily now Ecwid has come up with a solution. Missing basic things like abandoned cart recovery, but there are some solutions in the app store.

I have been using ecwid now for about 5 months. I needed something that offered more features for less money, and this has really been the best option for me. My previous e-commerce platform charged extra for EVERYTHING - and when you are a busy shop that cost adds up quick. I am delighted with how fully featured ecwid is, and how it just looks cleaner and more professional then my previous platform. Even with a lower cost paid plan I have more freedom, features and usability for about 75% LESS then I had been paying before! I am sorry it took me so long to find ecwid! My only frustration is that it is not as easy to customize the look of my store without help from support (which by the way is fantastic!)

Ecwid works seamlessly with my web host (Wix) and with Square Soft. Using it is intuitive and there are a lot of options for variations of products, coupon codes, discounts, shipping. I found that Ecwid was one of the only affordable options for shipping my products via courier service. Also, A++ customer service via live chat.

Setting up shipping and having it sync with the courier service based on location, weight, and dimension was tricky. Took about 4 tries and a few live chats with cust serv to get it to work properly but it works and its reliable now. Ive also found that issuing refunds to customers difficult.

I can set different prices for different options of my products. Some prices are higher than others, but still in one category. People can choose a flavor and it shows the adjusted price for that item right away in the pulldown.

Ecwid offers a great 10 item cart for for Free allowing many to test the waters with no financial hit for the cart. Their enhanced cart is offered at a reasonable cost and the cart integrates easily into social feeds and Facebook marketplace.

Ecwid comes with an easy interface to social but I would like to see more integrations with various platforms such as more api links with email providers, CRMs, etc.

Cart options are plentiful yet few solve all needs and Ecwid comes close and for a price fair enough to run a business. The benefit is you can try with a few products Free for Life and if it works up the inventory. This is a perfect solution for those with a few Quality items.
