I like the ease of use. There are several programs that do this sort of data collection, but CrazyEgg makes it easy to toggle between screen recordings, heat maps, and lists. I tend to use all of these with varying degrees depending on the website and client, and not having to hunt for the information is helpful. Their A/B testing tool is great, and I wish I could use it more often. Also the customer service is phenomenal. All of the interactions I've had with their product team and customer service have been helpful and pleasant.
There could be some improvement in the clarity of where to find settings, or why a certain website does not start recording sessions. It's not so much of a functional issue as a "where is this information?" and "where do I changes these settings" one. But that's a subjective insight.
It has made a huge difference in how we talk to clients about their campaign landing page structure, which has resulted in additional client work for our business. Also it's been a big help with how UX works with design and dev to show limitations of things like icons/elements not being clickable and users trying to click/engage in some way. It's provided clarity for the team overall and significant improvement in our products.
I was able to up my heat map and landing page testing game so much after having a chance to speak to some of the great support people at Crazy Egg. I learned both about new features that provided interesting insights, and also how to look at the heat mapping data and pull actionable information out of it.
I haven't tried competitors so it's hard for me to make a comparison, but I don't have any complaints about Crazy Egg. Initially it was hard to share save and share old heat maps, but that feature has improved over the years as well.
A heat mapping tool like Crazy Egg is an essential part of landing page and conversion rate optimization. There are so many insights that suggest improvements and things to test with the A/B testing aspect of the tool.
We have loved using the recordings feature to watch how users are engaging (or not!) with our content. We've made multiple informed tweaks to content structure, order, and content based on how we see our users interacting.
Sometimes CrazyEgg provides so much info and insight it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out where to focus efforts.
We are solving the problem of not knowing how our users behave. We have previously been able to roughly estimate - but we were usually pretty wrong! CrazyEgg helps us to analyze, predict, and tailor our site to user behavior.
Craze Egg offers so many different ways to view and analyze usage of a website, like a heat map and scroll map, numbers and percentages of clicks on each link, and user information such as browser, OS, window size, etc., not to mention recordings of users' movements on the page.
It would be nice if I could somehow combine the results of two different snapshots; we're a university library, and our homepage hits 100,000 views in a couple months, and I'd love to be able to combine two or three snapshots to cover one whole semester.
We're figuring out what links get the most use on our website and which get barely any use, which has enabled us to do some weeding of links!
Crazy Egg makes it easy to set up Heat maps for tracking user behaviors. Their interface is simple to use and well thought out.
I wish I didn't have to wait so long -- it would be nice for it to attempt to predict user behavior based on past activity.
None really, beyond setup configurations
Crazy Egg provides valuable insight into the performance of our site. The A/B testing tool has helped us see which web page variants work best for our audience and helped us determine what changes to make for a better user experience. On top of that, the CrazyEgg staff has been incredibly kind and helpful in answering questions and providing free webinars to better understand the tool.
There is nothing we dislike about CrazyEgg.
CrazyEgg has helped us decide which elements of our website drive the most conversions and see where we can improve. We've seen positive effects from making website changes based on insights from CrazyEgg.
Crazy Egg has offered us the missing piece to our website analytics. Not only do we understand how visitors interact with our clients websites, but we also can understand what needs to be changed on the websites to create a better user experience. Specifically, we love the heatmaps and recordings which we analyze more than once a week.
It’s hard to find things to dislike! Crazy Egg offers us SO MUCH helpful information that it has become an essential part of our onboarding toolbox. The price of Crazy Egg is way below the value it offers.
We are solving our Conversion Optimization solutions. Crazy Egg helps us find where visitors drop off and strategically place tools in those spaces to retain more visitors to convert.
Helpful heatmapping tools and A/B testing to help optimize my digital marketing efforts.
Some of the user interface could be improved. And, it would be nice to not have to enter every page URL that I want to track.
How users are behaving on the website, and how to optimize it.
This is the only multivariant testing solution that works well with Google Tag Manager. Others like OPtimizely and VWO require hard coding scripts into your site which takes longer in a decentralized work environment where certain simple tasks take multuple 3-week sprints to complete.
I just wish there was a way to organize things better by project visually.
We use crazy egg to study user click and scrolling behaviors. There was one example of an article we posted about a product announcement and people were clicking on an image in the article. We realized that our visitors thought they can go to the product details page if they clicked on the still life image of the product line.
Crazy Egg is quick to implement and provides a variety of insights on user behavior that can then be utilized to run A/B tests on site using their A/B testing tool.
The A/B testing tool is somewhat limited but provides the ability to implement user behavior based goals as success criteria.
I use Crazy Egg to monitor user behavior as well as implement CRO tests. You can quickly view what your visitors are doing on site as well as pin-point areas for improvement
