**[CrankWheel](https://findstack.com/go/crankwheel)'s pricing runs backwards, and it works in your favour if you notice.** Solo costs **$29/month with unlimited meetings**. Team costs **$99/month and is capped at 100 meetings**, shared across however many users you add. So the cheap plan is the unmetered one — and for a small, busy sales team, buying three separate Solo accounts at **$87/month** is both cheaper than one Team plan *and* removes the cap entirely. That is an unusual thing to be able to say about a SaaS price list, and it is not a trick: CrankWheel documents its metering rules in more detail than almost anyone in this category.

- **What it is**: No-download screen sharing and instant demos for sales teams — viewers join in a browser with nothing to install.
- **Best for**: Inside sales, insurance and home-services reps who need a prospect on a screen in ten seconds.
- **Pricing**: Free plan; Solo $29/mo (unlimited); Team from $99/mo (100 meetings); Enterprise quoted. Verified August 2026.
- **The honest catch**: Team meters "meetings" — and sharing a recording counts as one.

## What Is CrankWheel?

CrankWheel is a screen-sharing tool built for **one specific moment**: a salesperson on a phone call who needs the person at the other end to look at something, right now, without a download, a login, or a calendar invite.

That constraint shapes everything. **Viewers never install anything** — sessions open in whatever browser they already have, including, per CrankWheel's own claim, old versions of Internet Explorer. Presenters can optionally add a Chrome, Edge or Firefox extension that improves usability, but most features work without it. The **Instant Demos** feature puts a button on your website that rings a rep and puts a screen in front of the visitor in one step.

Around that sit the expected extras: **remote control**, **video conferencing**, **meeting recording**, a **Projector** mode for playing HQ video and audio inside a session, and **personalised sales videos by email**.

The audience is explicitly vertical — inside and telesales, insurance agents, home-services companies — rather than general-purpose conferencing, and the product is better understood as a sales tool than as a Zoom competitor.

**On Findstack it holds a 4.8 average from 25 user reviews**, which is a genuine independent signal and a good one.

## How CrankWheel Works

Three paid tiers plus a real free plan:

| | **Free** | **Solo** | **Team** | **Enterprise** |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Price** | $0 | **$29/mo** | **from $99/mo** | "starts at $XXK/year" |
| Users | 1 | 1 | **Unlimited** | Unlimited |
| **Meetings/month** | 15 | **Unlimited** | **100, shared** | Custom |
| Screen-share viewers | 3 | 30 | 100 | 1000s |
| Video-conf participants | — | 10 | 25 | 50 |
| Recording retention | 1 week | 6 months | 6 months | Custom |
| Remote control, Projector, Instant Demos | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| **API, Zapier, CRM connectors** | — | **✓** | ✓ | ✓ |
| Upload logo, branded links | **—** | ✓ | ✓ | Enhanced |
| **Remove CrankWheel branding** | — | **—** | **Add-on** | ✓ |
| Team dashboard, leaderboards | — | Own only | ✓ | ✓ |
| Never Over Limits™ tokens | — | n/a | 14 | Custom |
| Phone support | — | — | 8h/5d, "Team 300 and up" | Up to 24/7 |
| **SSO, audit log, SLA** | — | — | — | ✓ |

The trial needs **no credit card**, starts as Solo, upgrades itself to a Team trial if you invite colleagues, and **falls back to the free plan rather than dying** if you never buy. That is close to the ideal shape for a trial.

## CrankWheel Pricing

![CrankWheel's pricing table showing Solo at $29 a month with unlimited meetings, Team from $99 with 100 shared meetings, and Enterprise priced as "starts at $XXK per year"](https://assets.findstack.com/4saruvyhwan4tf4r5rml5fps7e4j)

### The cheap plan is the unlimited one

Read the "Meetings per month" row above. **Solo: Unlimited. Team: starting at 100, shared total.**

That inversion is the single most important fact about CrankWheel's pricing, and it has a direct consequence:

![Bar chart comparing what a three-person team doing 120 meetings a month pays: $45.24 for three annual Solo plans versus $198 for two Team plans at list price](https://assets.findstack.com/2b2mxg1zed0c0vozcslg4dx5lags)

**Three Solo licences cost $87/month with no meeting limit. One Team plan costs $99/month and stops at 100 meetings.** For three reps doing forty demos each — a normal month in inside sales — Team requires *two* stacked plans at **$198**, more than double the Solo route. Pay Solo annually and the gap widens to **$45.24 versus $198**, a difference of 4.4×.

To be fair, this is not a loophole CrankWheel is unaware of. Their own FAQ says: *"if you have few but highly prolific users, we offer a Busy User discount of up to 40%… if you have 3 or fewer user licenses per stacked Team plan."* At best case that brings two stacked plans to about **$118.80**. They have identified exactly the scenario where Team looks bad and built a discount for it — which is more than most vendors do.

But the discount is *"up to"* 40%, it is not shown on the pricing table, and it still does not beat stacked Solos on either price or cap.

### Where Team genuinely wins

The inversion flips once you have more people than meetings. Team's 100 meetings are shared across **unlimited users**, so:

| Scenario | Solo route | Team route |
|---|---|---|
| 3 reps, 120 meetings/mo | **$87** unlimited | $198 (2 plans) |
| 4 reps, 80 meetings/mo | $116 unlimited | **$99** |
| 20 staff, 90 meetings/mo | $580 unlimited | **$99** |
| 20 reps, 800 meetings/mo | **$580** unlimited | $792 (8 plans) |

**The dividing line is usage per head, not headcount.** If most of your seats are occasional users — support staff who share a screen twice a month, managers who watch — Team is dramatically cheaper and is the plan CrankWheel designed for you. If every seat is a full-time closer, Solo licences win on both price and cap.

Team also brings things Solo simply lacks: **100 viewers per session instead of 30**, a **team dashboard with leaderboards**, **administering user accounts**, **phone support**, and the ability to **buy off the CrankWheel branding as an add-on**. Three Solo accounts are three separate accounts with none of that shared administration, and that friction is real.

### The 48% annual discount is not on the pricing page

CrankWheel's FAQ states a **48% Loyalty Discount on Solo for paying twelve months at a time.** Applied to $29/month, that is roughly **$15.08 a month, about $181 a year** — a genuinely steep discount by SaaS standards, where 15–20% is the norm.

It is also **the best deal the company offers, and it appears nowhere on the pricing table** — no annual toggle, no second column, just a percentage buried in an accordion under "Are there any discounts?". We have not been able to observe the annual price directly; the figures above are arithmetic from CrankWheel's stated 48%, so confirm the exact number at checkout before relying on it.

Team has its own volume discounts as you stack plans, described but not quantified.

### What counts as a "meeting" — and what does not

If you buy Team, this is the section that decides your bill. CrankWheel publishes the counting rules in unusual detail, so we can quote them rather than guess. A meeting is counted:

- any time a user has a meeting with **one or more viewers**;
- any time an **Instant Demo request is marked as having resulted in a phone call**;
- **any time a user creates a share link or a segment for one of their recordings.**

That third rule is the one to notice. **Sharing a recording consumes a meeting from your monthly allowance**, even though nobody met anybody. If your team's workflow involves recording a demo once and circulating clips to a buying committee, each clip is billable usage.

What does *not* count is equally worth knowing, and CrankWheel deserves credit for both: **recording on its own is free**, and **screen shares shorter than 40 seconds are not counted** — so misfires and failed connections do not burn your allowance. Limits reset on **your signup date**, not the first of the month.

And when you do hit the cap, you are not cut off mid-call. **Never Over Limits™ tokens — 14 of them on Team — each unblock a full working day**, giving you time to decide whether to upgrade. That is a thoughtful piece of design and rarer than it should be.

### Two smaller things

**"Starts at $XXK /year"** is what the Enterprise column literally displays. It reads like an unfilled placeholder, but it does communicate something a plain "Contact us" would not: Enterprise is a **tens-of-thousands-per-year** product, not a $500/month upgrade. Odd to publish; mildly useful anyway.

**Phone support is annotated "8h/5d, Team 300 and up."** Read straightforwardly, that puts telephone support behind roughly **$300/month of stacked Team plans** — about three plans. Email and live chat are included everywhere, including the free tier.

### What actually decides your cost

- **Meetings per user per month.** Heavy users → Solo licences. Light users → Team.
- **How many people need a login**, since Team's headline strength is unlimited seats.
- **Whether you share recordings**, because each share link counts against Team's meter.
- **Viewers per session** — 30 on Solo, 100 on Team, thousands on Enterprise.
- **Billing cadence**, where Solo's 48% annual discount is by far the largest lever available.
- **Whether you need CrankWheel's branding gone**, which is a Team add-on and not available on Solo at all.

## Who Should Use CrankWheel

**CrankWheel fits** a phone-based sales operation that needs a prospect looking at a screen within seconds of asking. The no-install viewer experience is the whole product, and it is genuinely better at that one job than general conferencing tools, which is why the vertical marketing towards insurance and home services makes sense.

At **$29/month with unlimited meetings — or about $15 annually — a solo consultant, agent or founder is getting an unusually complete tool**, including API access, Zapier and CRM connectors that most vendors reserve for higher tiers.

For a **larger team of light users**, Team at $99 with unlimited seats is well priced and clearly the intended shape.

**It fits badly** for a small team of heavy users who buy Team without doing the arithmetic — that is the specific way to overpay here, and the fix is either stacked Solo licences or asking for the Busy User discount by name.

It fits badly for anyone needing **large webinars** (Enterprise territory), **SSO or an audit log** (Enterprise only), or a **fully white-labelled** experience on a budget, since removing CrankWheel branding is impossible on Solo and an add-on on Team.

## Honest Pros and Cons

**What works well:**

- **Solo has unlimited meetings at $29** — the cheapest plan is the unmetered one.
- **A 48% annual discount on Solo**, roughly $15/month, far above the SaaS norm.
- **A real free plan** — 15 meetings, 3 viewers, and remote control, Projector and Instant Demos all usable.
- **Trial requires no credit card** and reverts to Free rather than expiring into nothing.
- **API, Zapier and CRM connectors on every paid tier**, including the $29 one.
- **The metering rules are published in full** — what counts, what does not, when it resets.
- **Sub-40-second sessions and plain recordings are not counted**, so failures are free.
- **Never Over Limits™ tokens** unblock a working day instead of hard-stopping a sales call.
- **A one-week warning before your branding config resets** if you drop to Free.
- **Refunds are unusually generous**: 30 days no-questions on your first payment, 48 hours on monthly renewals, one week on annual.
- **No download for viewers**, which is the entire point and is executed well.
- **4.8 from 25 Findstack reviews** — real, independent, and positive.

**What to watch:**

- **Team is capped at 100 meetings** while Solo is unlimited, so three Solos beat one Team on both price and cap.
- **Sharing a recording counts as a meeting** on Team, which is easy to miss.
- **The 48% annual discount is not on the pricing table** — only a percentage in an FAQ.
- **Solo cannot remove CrankWheel branding at all**; it is an add-on on Team.
- **Solo caps screen sharing at 30 viewers** and video conferencing at 10 participants.
- **Phone support appears to require roughly $300/month** of stacked Team plans.
- **SSO, audit log, forced recording and the SLA are Enterprise-only.**
- **Enterprise is priced as "$XXK/year"**, which is not a price.
- **Recordings are kept six months** unless you buy the ten-year retention add-on.
- **Solo is one user**, so a team route means separate accounts with no shared admin.

## CrankWheel Alternatives and How It Compares

- **[GoTo Meeting](https://findstack.com/products/gotomeeting/reviews)** is the closest legacy comparison, but it is a scheduled-meeting product; CrankWheel's advantage is the unscheduled, no-install screen share mid-phone-call.
- **[Loom](https://findstack.com/products/loom/reviews)** overlaps only on the asynchronous side — recorded screencasts sent by link. If your workflow is "record once, send to many", Loom does that better and CrankWheel would charge you a meeting per share link.
- **[Livestorm](https://findstack.com/products/livestorm/reviews)** is the one to look at if your sessions are really webinars, where CrankWheel pushes you towards Enterprise.
- **Zoom** and **Google Meet** are what your prospect probably already has, and both now run in-browser — the gap CrankWheel exploits has narrowed, though neither matches its zero-friction instant-demo flow.
- **Surfly** and **Screenleap** are the closest direct competitors on the no-download co-browsing angle and are worth pricing against.
- **Demodesk** targets the same inside-sales buyer with a heavier, more scripted demo-automation approach.

Zoom, Google Meet, Surfly, Screenleap and Demodesk do not currently have Findstack listings, so those are named without links, and we have not re-verified their pricing here.

The honest framing: **if your need is "get a stranger looking at my screen during a cold call", CrankWheel is purpose-built and priced well for it.** If your need is scheduled meetings, webinars or async video, three cheaper or better-fitting tools exist.

## The Verdict

CrankWheel is a focused, well-built tool that does one thing properly and prices it strangely — in a way that mostly favours the customer who reads carefully.

**The single most valuable thing to know is that Solo is unlimited and Team is not.** A three-person sales team's instinct is to buy the plan called "Team", and that instinct costs them $198 a month where $87 — or $45 annually — would have bought more capacity. The rule of thumb is simple: **count meetings per person, not people.** Above roughly 25–30 meetings per head per month, Solo licences win; below it, Team's unlimited seats win comfortably.

The rest of the pricing is better than the category average. **The free plan is genuinely usable, the trial needs no card and lands somewhere soft, the API is on the $29 tier, refunds run to thirty days no-questions, and the metering rules are documented to a level of detail that lets you predict your own bill** — including the non-obvious rule that sharing a recording consumes a meeting. Never Over Limits tokens mean hitting your cap costs you a decision, not a lost deal.

What is missing is presentational rather than substantive. **The best offer CrankWheel makes — 48% off Solo annually — is hidden in an FAQ**, Enterprise is priced as "$XXK", and the Busy User discount that fixes the Team-versus-Solo problem is described only in prose. A buyer who reads the table and stops there will pay more than one who reads the FAQ.

**So read the FAQ, count your meetings per rep, and take the free trial without a card.** If you are a single heavy user, Solo billed annually is one of the better-value tools we have priced this year. If you are a team, do the multiplication before you click the plan with your job title on it.

## FAQ

### How much does CrankWheel cost?

**Solo is $29/month** for one user with **unlimited meetings**. **Team starts at $99/month** for unlimited users but only **100 meetings per month shared across the account**, with additional plans stackable for more. **Enterprise is quoted annually** and displayed as "starts at $XXK/year". There is also a **free plan** — 1 user, 15 meetings a month, 3 viewers per meeting, one-week recording retention and no branding options. CrankWheel's FAQ states a **48% discount on Solo for annual payment**, which works out to roughly $15/month, though that figure is not shown on the pricing table.

### Is CrankWheel Team cheaper than buying several Solo plans?

Not always, and often not. **Three Solo licences cost $87/month with no meeting cap; one Team plan costs $99 and stops at 100 meetings.** For a three-person team doing 120 meetings a month you would need two stacked Team plans at $198 — against $87 for three Solos, or about $45 paying Solo annually. Team wins when you have **more people than meetings**: 20 light users sharing 90 meetings pay $99 on Team versus $580 on Solo. Count meetings per head, not headcount. CrankWheel also offers a "Busy User" discount of up to 40% for teams with three or fewer licences per stacked plan.

### What counts as a meeting on CrankWheel's Team plan?

Three things, per CrankWheel's own documentation: a session with **one or more viewers**; an **Instant Demo request marked as having resulted in a phone call**; and **creating a share link or segment for a recording**. That last one surprises people — circulating a recorded demo consumes meeting allowance. Recording by itself is not counted, and **screen shares shorter than 40 seconds are not counted either**. Limits reset on your monthly signup date rather than the first of the month, and Team includes **14 Never Over Limits tokens**, each unblocking a full working day once you hit the cap.

### Does CrankWheel have a free plan?

Yes, and it is more than a token. The free plan gives you **1 user, 15 meetings per month, 3 viewers per meeting and one week of recording retention**, with remote control, Projector and Instant Demos all usable. What you lose is **all branding options**. Your account reverts to this plan automatically at the end of a trial or after you cancel, and CrankWheel gives **a week's notice before resetting your branding configuration and team list**. The trial itself requires no credit card.

### Can I remove CrankWheel's branding from meetings?

Not on Solo. Uploading your logo and using branded meeting and post-meeting links are included at $29, but **removing CrankWheel branding entirely is not available on the Solo plan at all**. On Team it is a **paid add-on**, as is enhanced white labelling. Only **Enterprise** includes branding removal outright and describes its white labelling as "available". If a fully unbranded experience matters to your business, price the Team add-on before assuming the $29 tier will do.
