Premiere is a powerful video editing software. It's ease of use is the best thing I like about it. Even as a relatively-inexperienced video editor, it allows me to lay layers of video and audio files fairly simply. The videos I've created have been instrumental in generating revenue for our organization.
There's not a lot to dislike about Premiere. It's the standard for video editing software. If I had to pick something I disliked, maybe more intuitive buttons (possibly with labels under the icon) to allow novice users an easier way to learn all its capabilities. This could possibly be turned on/off in settings as you become more familiar with the program.
We use video to highlight our travel packages we put together for our donors. Video tells the story of these trips so much better than words on a page. After using video, we've successfully sold out all our trips for the past 3 years.
Full editing functionality - no limits to what you can accomplish.
It is not for your everyday video editing needs; it's a bit intimidating for new and even advanced beginner level users.
We edit video produced from outside vendors and we create how-to/troubleshooting videos for our customers.
Since my college days, it's provided easy yet detailed tools to create high quality work. I appreciate the different options provided so my art can be different each time I edit.
Sometimes the program can take up a lot of RAM space so it can crash...save your work!
It's let me create work I can use for marketing.
Incredible for cutting and merging together clips. I've used this in combination with After Effects, to create book trailers and promotional videos for publishing
Steep learning curve, as most Adobe products tend to have. It also seems to get overloaded fairly easily, and crashes way too much. It's not good about backing up your work, and the crashing can result in a lot of time lost.
Marketing in publishing through book trailers and promotional videos
It is a very useful software, very easy to learn and it has lot of tools to make your videos look good.
I wish this software could support more effects creations, I like the software but now I prefer to use after effects to edit my videos.
Professional videos. It is easy to use and fast. And videos are better compressed by this software.
Even without the extension software from adobe such as after effects, this program can be self contained and very powerful.
Sometimes when editing large programs, it lags or crashes or functions stop. Though this may be dependent on GPU / CPU /RAM capacity.
After learning even the basics of the program, this program can be powerful and used quickly. Especially when editing short clips, this program is very reliable and when you're in need of a quick solution, this program is amazing.
I like best the fact that you can edit any video in a very professional way.
Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to understand for a complete beginner
It is a very sophisticated product and one can almost edit a video in anyway you want
It can do it all. Also has great video tutorials to help you get started.
This is a power software, which means there is a learning curve. It is not as user friendly as something like Movie Maker, but you can do so much more with it.
Nice Promo videos. Allows for professional seeming video editing.
Premiere is easy to use and if you have used Final Cut or Avid it is easy to self teach yourself Premeire. The interface is user friendly and tools are all right in front of you. From bins, to filters to transitions everything is easy to find and create.
I ran into issues with software updates where it would say there would be an update, but I would be up to date. Then when I went to save my project it would have to save as a completely new project.
Premeire makes editing quick and easy. It allows for the edits I need for movie trailers to be quick and easy and for those editors who tell stories to be able to tell them their way using the right tools.
Premiere Pro has a lot of robust features for the average video editing user, especially when combining video elements and audio tracks. Love the multitude of Effects and Controls.
You can sometimes get greatly different results from different versions. I have had to de-grade to a previous version on some projects.
Relatively inexpensive solution for powerful video editing using professional tools. PP has helped me get videos ready for final publishing very quickly without the expense of an outsourced videographer.
It's a really powerfull tool and you can apply a lot of different effects
It's not really easy to begin with. I have to watch a lot of youtube tutorial to understand how it works
It allow me to create video for my clients
Easy to organize content. Performs well on my machine
Can be sluggish at times. Takes some time getting used to dealing with sequences
video marketing
It's very intuitive. If you've used a non-linear editing software before it's easy to get started with Premiere Pro.
Switching between the many panels and windows can be cumbersome.
It's a great alternative to Final Cut Pro, which has gotten very un-intuitive in its latest version X.
This is a simplistic alternative to Final Cut Pro. The Adobe software is an easy to use interface that builds off of some of the best features from Final Cut and incorporates the versatility of Adobe's Creative package.
Like most of Adobe's products there is a learning curve and it requires some basic study. However, Adobe does a great job at making training videos and resources available to you.
Premiere Pro allows me to work within a singular suite for all of my editing needs.
I like the different capabilities available on the software that give you more creative design flexibility by pulling in features I'm used to from Photoshop. I mostly use this program for watermarking and other small tasks.
There is not much that I dislike about this program. I'm going to try out Final Cut pro to see how it compares.
I use this program for watermarking footage, cuts, and projects for my team. It's mostly used for creative videos.
As with all Adobe software, you can setup your workspace however you'd like - however the preset options give you a great nod towards the general workflow you should focus on when video editing. (I.e first looking at video assembly, then onto editing, sound, titles etc...) My favourite recent find in Premiere Pro is the media source window, which allows you to watch through your source files, select specific time codes and insert them into your main sequence with precision.
It's a little intimidating at first, there's a lot going happening on the screen. It takes a while to become fairly efficient in this program until you understand how it works a little better - Premiere Pro can do a lot, which is great, but it makes it perhaps a little less friendly than iMovie or FCP (Final Cut Pro). One thing that FCP does really well is allow you to reorder your clips without worrying about cutting into others. Premiere Pro really will allow you to place a clip wherever you want, so if you place a clip over another, it will write over the previous clip or split it in two. I'm sure there is another workaround which negates this issue, but for the time being FCP does that better.
We're starting to sell more video content, and that needs to be good content. Premiere Pro has allowed me to experiment more with our video outputs, improving our cuts, overlays and improving the sound as best we can where possible. Keeping within the Adobe ecosystem really helps since I often make a lot of elements in Illustrator and Photoshop, and soon - After Effects for simple animations.
Premiere has a lot of very useful shortcuts that allow me to work quickly without having to stumble around looking for a tool. Premiere's compatibility with Adobe Media Encoder is also a great way to save time. It allows me to queue up as many exports as I need while still working within Premiere.
Premiere can be very cumbersome, especially when starting out. I have accidentally click on something or pressed a keystroke and the interface changes leaving me helpless as I try to figure out what happened. Even after closing Premiere in hopes of reverting to the original interface, the unfamiliar one remains. I'm now more knowledgeable on how to navigate around Premiere, but confusing scenarios like this still happen far to often. Another very irritating issue with Premiere is the ridiculously complicated, make-shift method I've had to come up with in order to simply resize a shot or graphic in the program monitor. Final cut Pro has made this common process very easy, so i'm not sure why Premiere STILL hasn't fixed it.
I'm giving businesses commercials and videos when they don't have any. Premiere is nice for this because, as mentioned, with Media Encoder I can work simultaneously on videos in difference stages (editing and exporting.)
I like the ease of the workflow and integration with other Adobe products like AfterEffects.
I wish there were more built-in templates and free effects.
Making video editing possible.
It is great that you can manipulate both video and audio on the same project. It is also nice that you can pull in other premiere pro projects.
Would like to have a better description of how to use some of the affects and transitions without having to search the internet for hours. The program sometimes freezes up and the computer has to be restarted.
we use this program to make videos for different purposes. This program is very beneficial and user friendly.
The quality is good, like the rest of its Adobe products. The tools and icons are similar to rest of it's products so it's easy to use if you're familiar with Adobe products.
I've only used it for video clipping and editing audio but it's a very basic program. Once I realized I needed more effects like moving an object around, I had to switch to After Effects. It'd be nice to be able to distinguish the use for the two programs when I first started out. Also I wouldn't buy this product on its own but I use it because it comes with my Adobe CC. This tool on its own is comparable to other video editors that are more affordable.
Video creation for marketing and user test simulations.
